This 9-Day Tanzania Great Migration and Wildlife Safari allows us to experience the highlights of the Northern Safari Circuit. This excursion offers exploration of Great Migration of millions wildebeest in the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. This is a natural mystery phenomena happening in Serengeti where millions of wildebeest migrate annually in searching of green pasture. We experience breathtaking wildlife in the midst of diverse landscapes; monkeys in the forest, lions on trees, elephants amongst the acacia tree, and a huge variety of animals inside a collapsed volcano, Ngorongoro Crater. We also visit Serengeti National Park, home to some 3 million animals. These spectacular grass plains offer the best opportunity to viewing cheetah, leopard, rhino, and lion, in the true wild.

Day 1
Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will meet and greet with member of Lights on Africa’s team, then transferred to your hotel in Arusha for an overnight.

Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
08:00AM after breakfast at your hotel, your professional English speaking driver guide will pick you up and drive to Tarangire National Park. Start pre-afternoon game viewing at this magnificent majestic park, the area is very famous for the herds of elephants, more than 200 elephants may be seen at time. Tarangire River that crosses all over the park attracts many wildlife during dry seasons, the condition make this park to have a concentration of wildlife and diversity of bird species. In afternoon you will have your lunch at a picnic area. After lunch continue with game driving, enjoy the beautiful scenic landscapes filled with majestic long lasted baobab trees and acacia tortillas trees. In the late evening drive to your lodge for overnight.

Day 3
Tarangire National Park to Lake Manyara national park
In the morning after breakfast start another day adventure heading to Lake Manyara National Park. After completing with park registration at the park’s entry gate, start exploring the beautiful landscapes in the rift valley area region. The park is famous for tree climbing lions, they may be easily seen. If you love bird watching this will be a never regretting area to visit ever, a soda lake is a habitat of more than 450 bird species, among them are pink flamingos. Enjoy your lunch at a picnic site then continue with game viewing till evening. Drive to your lodge for overnight.

Day 4
Lake Manyara National Park to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at your hotel your guide will pick you around 0800hrs to drive you to Serengeti National Park. On your way you will pass through ngorongoro conservation area where you will explore it on your last day, enjoy game viewing en-route to Serengeti. Proceed with game viewing in the vast savannah plains of Serengeti upon your arrival, this park occupy the area of almost 15,000km square, it is habitat for millions of wildlife from large mammals to the small ones, you have a good chance to observe them in their natural habitat. In afternoon you will have your lunch at a picnic area then continue with game viewing. In evening drive to your camp in central Serengeti for an overnight.

Day 5
Full-game Drive in Northern Serengeti National Park
Enjoy a full-day game drive in the great Serengeti National Park. This is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife: over millions of wildebeests, thousands of lions, thousand leopards, hundreds of cheetahs and more than 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size. It’s the only place where you can witness millions of migrating wildebeest over the savannah plains, it’s the cradle of human life, and probably the closest to an untouched African wilderness you will ever get. Enjoy lunch in a picnic site then proceed with exploration of wildlife in their natural habitat of the great Serengeti. Late afternoon drive back to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6
Full-game Drive in Northern Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will proceed for a full-day game drive viewing at northern and if it’s a season you may encounter with the great migration in Mara River. Millions of wildebeest, thousands zebra and antelopes migrate from south to north in searching for green pasture. During river crossing hundreds of wildebeest dies from high pressure moving water, hungry crocodiles, and falling from high slopes of river walls. Please note that it can be very difficult to witness crossing and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to the river and only decides to cross a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation, and open plains. You will enjoy your lunch at a picnic site then continue for afternoon game viewing while you drive back to your camp for overnight.

Day 7
Serengeti National Park
Today, you will be led for a walking safari in the heart of Serengeti, you will be escorted by an armed park ranger and you will tread in the same land as lions, elephants, and giraffes. The walking is a way to experience the bush while out of the SUV. Here you will be looking for small things like animal trucks, animals dropping, insects, plants, and their medicinal uses. You will return to the camp for brunch then relax to prepare for the next day adventure.

Day 8
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, en route we will visit Maasai Bomas to experience the incredible traditional ways of life of Maasai society. You will experience traditional dances, learn about Maasai hunting tactics and other ways of life. Also we will visit Olduvai Gorge, an archeological site for an early lived human being, the fossils discovered by Dr. Leakey and his wife. You will enjoy a picnic lunch then drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you will descend to the crater for a full day of game viewing. The crater filled with zebras, buffaloes, lions, wildebeest, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, and also the rare black rhinos. The beautiful colors and dancing clouds make the crater almost surreal. Because of its natural beauty, the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. Big five animals are easily seen in an area. The area offers a density of wildlife in every square mile. You will enjoy your picnic lunch near the hippo pool. In the late afternoon descend the crater then drive to Arusha where you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure or to hotel in case you extend your stay.
